November Wishlist #2

  1. Black Studded Belt Jersey Maxi Skirt from New Look
I've wanted a maxi skirt for the longest time, and this one even comes with a belt and seems to be a little on the thicker side for winter, so it looks lovely.  I've had to stop myself from buying it a ton of times now because I'm just not sure what I'd even wear it with at the moment, but here's hoping I'll be able to get my hands on one soon anyway!
  2. Wool Felted Ladybirds from etsy
I recently discovered the joys of miniature felted things on etsy, and I fell in love with these little guys.  I can just imagine them sitting in a nice bowl of positioned around some other knicknacs.
  3. Cat Print Linen Pillow Cover from etsy
I am a cat lady, so I basically can't resist this.  The shop has some lovely other designs, too.
  4. Barry M Nail Paint in Ruby Glitter from Superdrug
I love these new jewel-themed polishes from Barry M.  I already have Gold Mine and Diamond and they're just lovely, but they didn't have these other ones (inc. #5) in stock.
  5. Barry M Nail Paint in Rose Quartz Glitter from Superdrug
    See above.
  6. Death Star Tin with Mints from Play.com
I really just want a little Death Star tin to put my earrings and stuff in.  It's cute.
  7. Owl Cuff Bracelet from Accessorize
I'm not normally the biggest fan of gold jewellery but I think the gold on this just looks damn nice, and it's a really cool design.  I love the amount of owl and animal-related accessories and patterned clothes around right now.
  8. Cat Collar with Plaid Bow Tie from etsy
Not for me, of course!  I really want to get my cat a bow tie collar but I don't think he'd really appreciate it.  He would look very dapper, though.

Autumn leaves & self portraits.

Nothing much to report this week, so here are some photos left over from the last time I went to visit Chris (and was left in awe of the sunlight which we are so very lacking here in Manchester), plus some self portraits from earlier this evening.  I wanted to play around with my salt lamp as a light source, and it turned out kind of okay!

November Wishlist

  1.  Morning Mugs (pack of 2) from the Discovery Store.
Saw these while having a mooch around online for presents for my boyfriend and very nearly bought them for our future house.  Part of me feels kind of lame for wanting to get a couples' mug set, but part of me feels like it was clearly meant to be!
  2.  Spot Day Bag in Charcoal from Cath Kidston.
I need a new handbag, preferably one that will fit my camera bag insert, and I love Cath Kidstons bags and accessories.  The only downside is the price tag!  I generally don't spend more than £25-£30 on a bag, as lovely as this one is.  If only.
  3.  Dark Green Skinny Jeans from New Look.
The photo doesn't nearly do justice to the colour of these jeans.  I spotted them in the shop a while back and they're a gorgeous deep, emerald green.
  4.  Soul Cal Deluxe Mongolian Jacket from Republic.
I've been dying for a new jacket or coat, and while I doubt that this would look very flattering on me, it just looks so cosy!
  5.  Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM Lens from Amazon.co.uk.
Put this on my wishlist despite being in the midst of bidding wars on eBay for one.  This is the lens that I'm hoping to get to replace my broken 18-55mm.  May as well spend a little more to get a better replacement than the kit lens.
  6.  Salt and Pep-purr Shaker Set from Modcloth.
    These are just too cute.
  7.  Soul Cal Deluxe Check Borg Jacket from Republic.
Another jacket I quite like, if only because it makes me think of a combination of the 90s and living in the wilderness.
  8.  R2 Afraid of the Dark? Lights from Modcloth.
If these weren't sold out I would order them straight away because they are amazing.  R2D2 fairy lights!
  9. Darth Vader Flask from Play.com.
Another necessity for the coming exam period where I'm going to be trapped in the library for hours on end; a flask!  In my humble opinion, everything is better when it's Star Wars related.

And so begins November.

I haven't really had a great deal to blog about lately thanks to a combination of my life just being generally uninteresting and the added pressure of the work I've been having to do lately.  As fellow UK students will know, final year of uni usually means writing a dissertation, and I've been trying to cram as much reading in as possible for my literary review, which is due Friday!

Even with all of the madness of trying to rush all of my work, I managed to visit the boyfriend last weekend, and my house mates and I made it out for bonfire night last night.  There's something almost quintessentially British about standing around at night in the freezing cold and fog, feet squelching through mud, just to catch a glimpse of some fireworks for a few minutes.

The display was quite nice, despite it being over half an hour late to start.  Now that Guy Fawkes Night is out of the way (am I the only one who started to get incredibly irritated by people referencing it online all day despite neither being British nor knowing it actually is?), I can't wait for Christmas festivities to start.  It's not long now before the lights are turned on and the Christmas market opens, and I'm excited to be dazzled by more flashing lights and stuff myself full of Christmas treats.  Missing Christmas because of my year abroad last year has really made me appreciate the holidays all the more!

Did you do anything special for bonfire night?
